In-Store Only Rude Store Associates

I've come across some rude store associates but "Gary" at Paul and Cathy's No Frills-London took the cake today!
They were 10 min late opening due to a late truck delivery, when an elderly lady (one out of 20 that were standing around waiting for them to open I might add) asked him "running late today what's going on it's 9;10am??" he rudely snapped "Sorry but I was busy!"
I'm sorry Gary but like we all aren't busy? Like none of us have anything other to do, than to wait while you unload a truck? For some of us time is money!
This lady told me she shops at the store 3-4x per week, but she won't now and I don't blame her, especially after someone else asked him "having a bad day?" and he replied "someone needs a slap"
I myself work in a similar type of store, and if anyone were to snap at a customer that rudely it wouldn't be tolerated! If he was running late because of a truck and was the only one with keys like the sales associate at the check out "Sherrie" told me, than you should always have a back up person..just in case!

I haven't encountered many rude employees but mostly lazy, careless, or unknowledgeable or a mix of those employees. One time I went to Subway and I was the only customer there waiting to order and there were only two employees working there at that time. They both were talking to each other and weren't busy but ignored my presence and didn't welcome me or say hi when I was standing right in front of their faces. When I said I wanted to order something, then they acknowledged my presence and spoke to me how I wanted my sandwich to be made but never greeted me. They were really slow when they were making my sandwich because they cared more about talking and continued to talk to each other the entire time they were making my sandwich. I was appalled that their spits would fall on my sandwich when they talked. They didn't even say goodbye to me when I left. I haven't came back to that place ever since then.

I hate it when employees care more about themselves than their customers.

I know how you feel. It's just frustrating when the staff doesn't care about your waiting time. I'm usually too shy to ask the staff to stop talking and get back to work, but I could be waiting their at the counter forever before they come up to me. Most places have suggestion boxes and I usually writing down my opinions there, along with the slow and lazy associates name of course. Also, I've came across a lot of mystery shoppers these days and I think that's a great idea. The staff will feel they have more responsibility.
